Program Mission

The Department of the Holy Qur’an and Its Sciences seeks to qualify specialized cadres with high competence and mastery in preparing scientific research in the interpretation of the Qur’an and its sciences, capable of national competition, meeting labor market needs, and serving the community.

Program Objectives

  1. Deepening and consolidating scientific research for the study of Qur’anic sciences.

  2. Directing and developing the ability of criticism and analysis among students.

  3. Enabling learners to know interpretive sources and their methodologies.

  4. Providing learners with the necessary skills to benefit from various sources in explaining the Holy Qur’an.

  5. Enabling learners to be familiar with the fundamentals of scientific research.

  6. Improving the performance of cadres of the Ministry of Education and community colleges in the field of Qur’anic sciences.

Knowledge

  • Knowing the ethical determinants of practicing the teaching profession from an Islamic perspective.

  • Being familiar with the foundations of content selection and curriculum planning problems.

  • Training on analyzing some issues and problems in teaching Sharia sciences.

  • Knowing the curriculum and methods of teaching Qur’anic sciences.

  • Conducting research and collecting information to support education and the integrated growth of all learners.

  • Being familiar with the styles of the Holy Qur’an and its aspects of inimitability through its interpretation.

  • Being fully aware of the correct approach to interpreting the words of Allah Almighty.

  • Knowing the principles of the seven Qur’anic readings.

  • Knowing the methods that students follow to reach the places of Hadith.

  • Knowing the different trends in Qur’anic interpretation.

  • Analyzing types of scientific research.

  • Mastering the most important scientific research skills.

  • Mastering methods and skills of dealing with references and sources.

  • Mastering scientific research writing.

  • Mastering documentation skills.

  • Being well acquainted with the sources of the fundamentals of interpretation, including books specialized in the fundamentals of interpretation, introductions to books of interpretation, books of Qur’anic sciences, and surveying interpretations.

  • Being familiar with the ruling of interpretation, its types and virtue, and the difference between interpretation and exegesis (ta’wil).

  • Practicing understanding the various Qur’anic readings and comprehending the differences among them.

  • Being aware of the guidance of verses regarding public benefits, beliefs, rulings, morals, admonitions, and lessons.

  • Extracting a number of prophetic Hadiths.

  • Comparing modern compilations in terms of authors’ methodologies and organization of scientific material, etc.

  • Developing the student’s ability to design curricula for Sharia sciences.

The Department of the Holy Qur’an and Its Sciences at the Faculty of Applied and Educational Sciences in Al-Nadirah – Ibb University aspires to prepare specialized cadres capable of educational and research leadership in the sciences of the Holy Qur’an and serving the community.
